This artiste is of course none other then our very own ELLA – QUEEN of ROCK crowned by the music industry and fans alike. A diva in her own right ELLA has rocked her way to our hearts with numerous chart-topping albums and hits and is currently the only female artiste to sell a whopping 400,000 units with her then ELLA USA album. Now, after 21 years of creative service in the music industry the time has finally come to formally recognize ELLA as nothing less short of a legend in the form of a tribute and get-together album aptly titled ‘URBAN STRIKE – Satu Penghargaan Buat Ratu Rock ELLA.’

URBAN MUSIC definitely has something for everyone. The album will feature 7 prominent urban acts doing and remake 10 cover tracks from some of ELLA’s most popular numbers. The 7 mentioned artists are V.E, RUFFEDGE, TOO PHAT, PHLOWTRON, SHAZZY, KRU and SOUL.ID from INDONESIA as guest artiste.

The highlight of the album will definitely be for the song ‘STANDING IN THE EYES OF THE WORLD’ which will also be the first single from the album and also the theme song for URBAN CRUIZER. ‘STANDING IN THE EYES OF THE WORLD’ which is the theme song for the 1998 COMMONWEALTH GAMES in MALAYSIA will be remake and feature all of the artistes together. Rest assured, ELLA is very much in this album as well as she will lend her rock vocals in most of the songs featured in the album.

What unique about this tribute album is that it is not another cover album instead, the artist featured has injected their own personal style into the songs made popular by ELLA, and in short the songs have been given a facelift or urban feel (Hip Hop, RnB, Jazz, Blues and crossover experimental). This album is not only a tribute to ELLA and her efforts but also goes to show what MALAYSIAN artistes are capable of doing in terms of versatility and creativity.
